About Us
Here on the Homestead
We are a small family farm, raising chickens and goats. We harvest a variety of fruit trees, and maintain a small olive orchard. We are located in Northern California.
Mr. & Mrs. Humble Harvest
Randall and I met in 2005 and have been married now for 16 years. We are a family of 5. Oldest 15, middle 9, and youngest 3 all living on the farm. We are born again believers in Christ, and love to share about His grace and mercy.
Pasture
Our herd accesses about 1.75 acres of our property that is irrigated pasture. On it is a small olive orchard that the goats LOVE! They keep the trees pruned, and the trees provide nice shade in the heat of summer.
Have You Herd...
Our farm is expanding to include dairy goats. In 2019 we purchased our first "milk" does. Since then, we have been raising a small herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats for milking and herd improvement. We hope to offer goat milk soaps and cheese in the near future.
Machine Milking
After a few days of hand milking, we invested in a machine.
Our Barn
Our barn is where kidding and milking happens. We house baby goats on one side and kidding does on the other. The far-right pen is the buck pen.
Inside Our Barn
When it's kidding season, we use mobile panels to separate space inside the barn for our girls to be with their babies.
Cameras
When it's kidding season, we use cameras in the barn to watch the girls, and can see when one goes into labor.
We Vaccinate
Our herd is vaccinated annually. New kids get BoSe at birth and are given their CD&T at 6 week and a booster at 9 weeks.
In the Orchards
We have a large variety of trees here in the Homestead. Citrus: Blood orange, Navel, Lemon, Yellow grapefruit, Red grapefruit . Stone Fruit and others: Peach, Cherry, Plum, Apricot, Fig, Gala apple, Red apple, Asian pear and Persimmon.
Jammin'
We love to make our own jams. We pick from the blackberry bush at the back of the property.
Clean Tested Herd
We test for CAE, CL, and Johnes annually. Our last test was done in December 2023. Any new goat that comes on the farm is quarantined for 30 days and tested before joining the herd.
